Once a week, I post about something I’m loving (tv, movies, books, art, photos, romances, authors, or anything else) that I’ve seen or read about recently. So here is this week’s For the Love of…
I’m a sucker for great kisses. Mostly for myself (who wouldn’t be?), but I do enjoy watching a lovely couple kiss. Sometimes when writing about a kiss (and the other physical stuff too), I’ll look at images for inspiration. Yeah, I love my work.
I also use pics for settings and character descriptions, but looking at the kisses is way more fun!
So today I’m sharing some great same-sex kisses I thought would be good for inspiration (most are m/m but there’s a couple f/f that I love). And they’re not all lips to lips. Enjoy!
Did they inspire you?

Here’s a video of Deniz & Roman from Alles was zählt (All That Matters), a German soap opera, set to the song “Now and Forever.” This one is lovely, especially the parts at the end with them on the couch. Nice!

Has anyone watched the show? The clips with English subtitles are on YouTube if you’re interested. I’ve seen a few episodes but haven’t had the time to go back through all of them. I’ve heard great things about their storyline. If you’ve seen it or start watching it in the future let me know what you think. I’d love to hear about it.

I was telling some of my writer friends this week about how I use photos for inspiration when describing my characters and settings. I also use them to help describe physical actions (like kissing!). I love to find photos for what I call “almost kisses.” It’s that moment right before a kiss where the couple (or more!) is so close to touching lips to lips, but aren’t quite yet. In a photo, you can freeze that moment in time. In fiction, you can drag it out and build up the tension. It can be one of the most romantic moments, especially for a couple’s first kiss. Here are some good ones:
So what physical moment is the most romantic for you? Is it different in fiction than in real life?

On Wednesday December 30, the ABC soap One Life to Live became the first US soap to break the same sex barrier for an “on-screen” love scene when Oliver and Kyle spent almost two-and-a-half minutes “getting busy.” I’m not a regular viewer of the show, but I wanted to share. It’s a great scene, reminiscent of traditional, romantic love scenes (even including the traditional “after sex” shot with the blankets covering their nipples. hehehe).
Thank you to One Life to Live, ABC, Scott Evans, and Brett Claywell. Kudos!!

Wasn’t it lovely?

This weekend I finished making changes from the line edits for my debut novel, More. I’m excited and the story is on my mind a lot again, so I thought I would share a video today that reminds me of the more intimate moments in More. The guy with the wandering mouth reminds me of Matthew. He doesn’t really look exactly how I picture Matthew, but something about the way he kisses reminds me of him.
This is a beautiful, erotic kiss. I will warn you it’s steamy, but it is only an intense kiss (okay, a bit more) and the clothes stay on (well, on but pushed up a bit). Anyway, it’s one great video from YouTube. Take a look…

When I start thinking about my characters for a new story, I find a couple pictures for each. Nothing that looks exactly like them, but close enough to what I’m picturing that the photos help me get the descriptions from my head to the paper.
I’m a sucker for a good smile. It’s one of the physical traits that draw me to a person. So I always try to find one picture for each guy that has a smile. Something to look at when I’m writing a scene where he’s happy, when he’s falling in love — even if he doesn’t want to admit that.
So today, I thought I’d share some of the newer pictures I’ve found. I haven’t used any of these yet, but they have some great smiles.
So what do you think? Do you like a good smile? What other aspects do you find attractive in a person?

Today I have some lovely romance eye candy. It’s a montage of several love stories from TV and the movie Shelter. The boys included are:
Kevin & Scotty from Brothers and Sisters
Luke & Noah from As the World Turns
Zach & Shawn from Shelter
Kyle & Eric from General Hospital: Night Shift
Darren & Todd from Grey’s Anatomy – episode titled “The Becoming”
I must admit, I haven’t watched all of these yet, but this beautiful montage has me putting them on my list.

Nice, huh? Anyone watch any of these shows? All of them?
I’ve been following the story of Luke and Noah on As the World Turns to show my support of gay stories on US daytime TV. It was recently announced that the show has been canceled. I might have to check out One Life to Live. Anyone watch Oliver and Kyle? Maybe I can catch up on YouTube.
Thanks for taking a look.

Due to my hectic multiple days of holiday fun this year (yes, I had three days of Thanksgiving), I don’t have a long post for today, but I do have some pictures of lovely couples to share. They are some of my faves from flickr. I hope you enjoy these beautiful, romantic images.
Thanks for stopping by!

I was watching the Deniz & Roman video I posted the other day and I was reminded yet again what amazing kisses these two share. It got me to thinking … you can see a lot in a kiss. I’m not talking about what you can feel but what an observer can tell just by watching the kiss, watching the expression on their faces, the way their bodies come together. It’s hard to hide what you feel when you are in the midst of a kiss with someone you love, someone you want, someone you’ve been dying to kiss.
So tell me … what do you think of these kisses? Can you see the emotion?
Comment or send me an email. I’d love to hear from you.

Someone shared this video on one of my yahoo groups. The characters are Deniz & Roman from Alles was zählt (All That Matters), a German soap opera. I love this shower scene. Such a lovely moment of intimacy between two young men. There’s English subtitles, but they don’t need to speak in the shower scene to understand exactly what they’re feeling.
A friendly warning for those at work: There is a lot of skin, kissing and touching in this one.
What do you think? Isn’t it lovely? I just might have to catch this show on YouTube. Anyone watch it? Comment or send me an email. I’d love to hear what you think.
