I was having an off day earlier this week and I walked by a TV, saw the Golden Girls were on, and even though I couldn’t hear the sound, I smiled. The girls are just that awesome. They always make me laugh. So today I’m sharing one from the fantastic and sexy Blanche Devereaux.

Blanche: I do love the rain so… it reminds me of my first kiss.

I don’t watch Desperate Housewives anymore, but I was glad to see they recently had a happy ending for a lesbian couple. Robin and Katherine walked off into the sunset together (or rather Paris). I think some thought the storyline was over too quickly, but at least it didn’t end tragically or with a “I changed my mind” kind of a thing.

Today I’m loving Julianne Moore. She’s filmed her cameo appearance on “As the World Turns” to help say goodbye to her old daytime soap (her role on ATWT ran from 1985-88). ATWT will be ending its 54-year run later this year. You can see a photo of her on the ATWT’s set at Zap2it. Her appearance will air on April 5.

Not many Academy Award nominated actresses would take the time to return to their former daytime career. Pretty classy of her.

Oh and she’s just plain gorgeous, so yeah I’m kind of a fan. ;)

This video is a teaser for an online soap opera-style series called Venice. Venice follows the life of a gay female interior designer. I just started watching the show this weekend.

I love this song. Not sure why, but it puts me in a gushy, romantic mood every time I hear it.

I just finished re-watching both seasons of The Magnificent Seven TV series on DVD, so I thought I would share a video. This series ran from 1998 to 2000 and was inspired by the film of the same name.

This show was a fav of mine back in the day. Gorgeous men willing to put their lives on the line to save innocent people…and each other. So much slashy goodness. The one and only fan fiction slash I’ve ever read (about any characters) was a short love scene between Ezra and Vin. I can’t recall who write it, but it was delicious.

Enjoy the video. It’s a compilation of Vin, Ezra, and Buck set to “Blaze of Glory” by Jon Bon Jovi. It’s a bit long and the quality’s not the best, but the guys are still great to watch.

The 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics are almost here, so I thought I’d share this video which combines Sarah McLachlan and figure skating. McLachlan (a Vancouver native) wrote “One Dream” to be use for the Olympics.

I admire these athletes. Amazing talent and beauty and they do it all on ice…which hurts like crazy if you fall on it, trust me.

I’ve been re-watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer on DVD whenever I’m doing housework or other non-writing crap, er, I  mean, activities. I just watched the episode where Willow and Anya chase down the troll Olaf. For those of you who have never watched Buffy, Anya is newly human. She tends to do and say some pretty awkward things. This part where she’s driving a convertible had me laughing:

Anya: Well, I don’t know how to put the top up. I only just figured out what the left pedal does! It makes us stop! (She slams on the brakes)
Willow: You don’t know how to drive? Why didn’t you say you don’t know how to drive?
Anya: Well, I couldn’t know if I could until I tried, could I?

I like that message…you don’t know what you can do until you try. Of course, for driving I’d recommend a driving class, but the sentiment can apply to lots of things in life. Never think you can’t do something until you at least give it a try and really see what you’re capable of first.

Just watch a baby learn to crawl or a little kid learn to ice skate. They don’t know the word “can’t.” They just keep trying.
