Here’s this week’s quote I love…
“Life is like a box of crayons. Most people are the 8-color boxes, but what you’re really looking for are the 64-color boxes with the sharpeners on the back. I fancy myself to be a 64-color box, though I’ve got a few missing. It’s ok though, because I’ve got some more vibrant colors like periwinkle at my disposal. I have a bit of a problem though in that I can only meet the 8-color boxes. Does anyone else have that problem? I mean there are so many different colors of life, of feeling, of articulation…so when I meet someone who’s an 8-color type…I’m like, hey girl, magenta! and she’s like, oh, you mean purple! and she goes off on her purple thing, and I’m like, no – I want magenta!”
– John Mayer (singer)
We should all have more colors in our lives.

Hey Sloan,
I like the first part of the quote.
The last part just shows me a bit of an arrogant singer ;)
Hi Janna! I can see that. :-)
I guess I took it to mean we should open our eyes to more than the typical everyday “normal” way of seeing things. Like don’t judge others just because someone’s way of living and looking at the world doesn’t fit into a small 8-color box of crayons. There are so many ways of being unique and expressing ourselves. Of course, I could reading way too much into it. LOL
Thanks for the comment. Have a good one!
Sloan
I like your interpretation, Sloan! :) It’s a good thing to open your eyes to more than the ‘normal’. I’ll always try to see the 64 colors every person has but maybe doesn’t show easily or at first hand! You can discover nice things when you look beyond the 8-color box of crayons that’s in the foreground don’t you think? :D
Hope you have a great day/evening!
Janna
I agree. Well said, Janna. There’s more to see about people than what’s on the surface — what they are willing to put out there.
Thanks! You too.
