Blog Update and Other News

Well it took over a week longer than I’d hoped, but my blog is finally all set up at its new host. The existing content was copied to the new location, and it even looks like all of the email subscribers also transferred with the blog. So if you’re signed up to follow the posts via email, hopefully you’re seeing this in your inbox.

I’m glad to be getting back to sharing news and other fun stuff.KissingBlackWhite

Speaking of news. I finished drafting MORE THAN JUST A GOOD BOOK parts 7 and 8, and I’ve got a good start on 9 and 10. I wanted to get all the details ironed out so I could make sure I worked in each of the threads I wanted to follow through on before the ending. I’ll start doing a final edit on part 7 shortly and get that up on my site as soon as I can, probably in the next couple of weeks. As with each installment, I have a few people that are going to look it over so I need to give them time to read through it and make comments. I’ll keep you posted on that.

I’m also still plugging away on the first draft of MORE THAN MOST (MORE #2). As soon as I get into more in depth revisions for that one, I’ll share a work-in-progress excerpt or two.

While I’m on the subject of book news, I wanted to send out a huge thank-you to everyone who picked up a copy of HOW TO SAVE A LIFE. Knowing there are readers out there who are interested in my stories is the best writing incentive, especially on the days when the words don’t flow easily and I’m staring at a blank page wondering where my characters have gone. The emails and other messages I’ve received about this book have also meant the world to me. Thank you!!

Hope you all have a good one!

News and Highlights from My Writing Week: A Title for More 2

The bulk of my writing time right now is spent on the sequel to MORE, but I’ve got a few other things going on. Here’s an update and some bits of news.

This week I…

  • Came to a decision on the title for the second More book. For now I’m going with MORE THAN MOST. This is very tentative at this time since my publisher will have to give their okay after the book is contracted. I also may need to select a new title if another book in the genre or from my publisher releases before mine. Or I may just decide another title works better once the book is finished. Although right now, I’m really digging MORE THAN MOST.
  • Took an hour off from my regular writing to type up my handwritten notes for Vargas’s story (The Haven 2), adding a few scene ideas that came to mind as I worked. All I can share at this time is: Good God, I cannot wait to write that book!
  • Did the final read-through after proofing of WHAT YOU DO TO ME: A BREATHE EPILOGUE and received official word that it will be released on April 23rd.
  • Finished reworking the plot elements that were giving me fits in MORE THAN MOST (More 2). Someone remind me never to plot out a book over two years before I write it. But all’s going well again. The boys are working through some issues, growing as individuals and a threesome. I have to say, I was worried I wouldn’t be all that into writing the sex in this book since it’s not a new relationship, but happily that’s not the case at all. The intimate moments I’ve worked on thus far are coming out very erotic and meaningful to the relationship and their story.
  • Revised the first scene in part seven of MORE THAN JUST A GOOD BOOK.

That’s where I’m at for the most part. Hope you had a fabulous week.

More Than Just a Good Book Part 6 now available

Cover-Md-MoreThanJustSerialWith my other deadlines over the past few months, this one got pushed to the back burner for longer than I’d hoped. I’m happy to share that I was finally able to set aside some time to get back to all the plans I have in store for Mark and Scott, and now part six of my free serial story is available on my website.

I’ve also written a rough draft for part seven and a few notes for part eight. I can’t wait to share the rest of Mark and Scott’s story.

If you check it out, I hope you enjoy part six. I’d love to hear what you think of this latest installment.

Breathe Epilogue Coming in April

SP_Breathe_cover_webI’ve got news! My publisher Loose Id is going to release the short epilogue for my novel BREATHE as one of their Spring Fling reads (ETA: which will be free for a limited time). The epilogue is titled WHAT YOU DO TO ME: A BREATHE EPILOGUE and will be out sometime the week of April 22nd, possibly Wednesday or Thursday. I’ll share the link when it’s available.

This is one I’ve been wanting to write ever since finishing the novel. It’s short, just a couple of scenes, and gives a look at the happily-ever-after for Jay and Lincoln.

Inside Look at Writing More 2: Poor Luke

Yesterday while working on the sequel to MORE, I added something I hadn’t planned on before now. It was a very intense moment between Matthew and Richard. No matter how far Luke has come, it’s a little scary when he’s the one who has to make the other two talk. This scene doesn’t take place until later in the book than what I’ve been working on, but I just had too many ideas running through my head. I had to get their conversation down. Now I’m back to working on earlier chapters. I cannot wait to get to the follow-up scenes after that Matthew/Richard moment.

I also completed changes to the Epilogue for BREATHE that I’ve been wanting to write since I first finished that book. As I read through it one last time, I cried and sighed and smiled like a goofball. Love those guys. I’ve sent it off to my editor to review. More news on that will be coming soon.

And part six of MORE THAN JUST A GOOD BOOK has been sent to a couple of people who help me with the editing. My newsletter followers will be the first to be notified when part six is available to read via my website, so be sure to sign up to receive my newsletter if you haven’t yet.

Well that’s where I’m at with my current projects. Hope you all are having a great week!

Snippet from MORE THAN JUST A GOOD BOOK

From the work-in-progress manuscript for MORE THAN JUST A GOOD BOOK (serial novel) part six…

Balancing the tray in one hand, Mark entered the bedroom. He nearly lost the tray’s contents onto the floor at the sight before him.

Scott lay on the bed as instructed, his hands over his head gripping the headboard. He wore the five items from the box and nothing else.

“Did I do it right?”

Those whispered words from Scott had Mark’s arousal kicking into gear. Everything else faded away.

Well almost everything. He had to take care of one last thing. He set the towel-covered tray on the nightstand. Scott glanced at the tray but said nothing.

Please note: Work-in-progress excerpts may not end up in the final manuscript or may be revised to something different before publication.
