“You may avoid suffering and sorrow if you don’t risk, but you simply cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love, live. The greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. The person who risks nothing, does nothing and has nothing. Only a person who risks is free.” –Bob Proctor
Sounds like the writer’s life: to risk it all to create a work of fiction, and then to hope others love your stories like you do. Thanks for sharing, Sloan.
Shay: So very true. I think when we do anything with intense passion, it is a big risk. We put our work (and in a way a part of ourselves) out there for others to read, enjoy, react to, internalize, etc. It can be such an exciting experience but also takes courage too.
I say power to anyone who puts a part of themselves out there for others to comment on or critique. It is brave, but nothing ventured nothing gained. J K Rowling (for a book example) is probably pretty glad she did :) Keep putting your books out there, Sloan. I always look forward to them.
Karen: Great example. And thanks so much for the kind words. I definitely plan to keep on writing. I have many more stories I want to share.
