Breathe Sneak Peek

I’ve been working on new outlines for a few weeks now, but today I was missing Lincoln and Jay from Breathe. Hopefully the book will be in edits before long, so I’ll get to visit them soon. Until then I thought I’d share a brief snippet.

Unedited snippet from Breathe:

Jay advanced. For the second time in his life, he didn’t give a shit what anyone else said about his choice in a lover. He seized Lincoln by the waist and crushed his mouth to the other man’s. Lincoln spread his lips and grabbed a hold of Jay. No hesitation. No delay. Everything faded but the strength of that kiss, the power, the depth, the drive of man against man.

No release date yet. I’ll post a full excerpt after it’s been through edits.

Contract Signed for Breathe

I’m excited to announce that I signed a contract with Loose Id for my second novel, Breathe, a gay romantic suspense. I don’t have a release date yet, but I’ll post the details and a blurb once I have more information.

Cheers,

First Author Interview!

Hi all,

This week I’m featured in the author spotlight at Ann Lory’s blog. Thanks Ann for allowing me to share about myself and my work!

Here’s the link if you want to check out the interview and excerpt from my debut release, MORE. I’m talking about the most unglamorous thing I’ve done this week and what other work I have going on right now.

Quote I Love: Forgiveness

Here’s this week’s quote I love…

I’m getting closer to finishing my manuscript for Breathe. Today I finished another read through the final pages, making a few edits and tweaks hear and there, and I ended up in tears at the end. I love these guys, love their journey, love their relationship. I’m a sap. And a sucker for my own work. Not sure what that means, but I’m hoping it’s a good thing.

So for my quote today, I wanted to post a few of my favorites about forgiveness, a major theme in Breathe.

“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.”
-Mahatma Gandhi

“To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.”
-Lewis B. Smedes

“Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future.”
-Paul Boese

Some things are more difficult to forgive than others, but sometimes we hold on to the smallest of slights and that does us more harm than we know. One thing I’ve learned through the process of writing this book is that I hope I can learn to forgive more easily.

Have a great day!

Quote I Love: Footprints on our Hearts

Here’s this week’s quote I love…

After a short break I’m back to editing my next book Breathe, and so I thought I’d use a quote today that says something to me about the story, the characters, and their relationship.

Some people come into our lives and quickly go.
Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom.
Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon.
They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same.

– Flavia Weedn

This isn’t an exact fit, but it does capture a lot of what the story means to me.

Hope you all meet someone today who will leave a footprint on your heart.
