Blog Announcement: Friday Blog Topics

Hi all,

No regular Friday “For the Love of” post today. Instead I’m announcing a change to my blog.

Starting next week I’m mixing things up with my Friday posts. I’m still going to continue with my “For the Love of” series (where I post about anything I’m loving including TV, movies, books, websites, articles, news, etc.), but I’m also going to mix in other topics about my writing and m/m romances in general. Topics might include how I got the idea for a story, why or how I created a particular character, pictures that inspired a character or scene, songs that remind me of a story or character, and other topics specific to my work and my writing life, as well as general posts about the m/m romance genre.

I’d also like to hear from you readers…what would you like to see on an author blog? What would you like me to post about?

The number of people reading the blog has increased over the last few weeks. I know there are more people reading than reflected in the comments or followers list. Which is fine with me. I love lurkers too. I lurk on most of the blogs I follow. I want to make this blog something I can enjoy posting to each week, but also something you find interesting and valuable.

Feel free to either comment on this post or fill out this short anonymous survey. I’d love to hear what you’d like to see on the blog

Thanks,
Sloan

  1. I think learning more about your characters, maybe what or whom inspired the actual character or their personalities would be fun! It is always amazing to me that I can sit down with a book (er, e-book lol!) and become engrossed in a story so much that by the end, I feel as if the characters are people I actually know. The idea that a writer can literally bring to life someone from their imagination is awe-inspiring to a non-writer, and learning how that happens (or why, maybe) is intriguing to me. Were they fully formed before you started the book or did they grow as the book progressed? Anyway, sorry for the long-winded response;)….OH! And maybe learning more about the actual characters could be fun too, you know, things you might not have had room for in the book?

  2. Thanks, Elaine. Just the kind of info I was looking for. I’m hoping to post more about my characters in the coming weeks. Thanks for taking the time to let me know what you think.

    Have a good one,
    Sloan
