With that simple touch, Seth awoke. He rolled his head to the side and just lay there, breathing heavily, staring at Vargas for several achingly long breaths, his eyes harboring a haunted expression Vargas almost couldn’t bear. But no way was he going to look away. Instead he ran the pad of his thumb over Seth’s skin in a comforting stroke.
I so needed to be reminded of that right now. Not that I had to do anything as drastic as starting over, but I did decide to cut scenes from The Haven 2 and rework several others. Usually I’m pretty confidant about that decision, at least when I’m this far into a novel and I know the changes will make the story stronger, but it’s still disconcerting to hit that delete key.

I’m currently revising the second book in this series, and yesterday one of the scenes I read through was the first kiss scene between Vargas and Seth. I love the way it turned out. Both of these men deserve so much happiness, and I can’t wait to share their story with you.
