Video I Love: Star Wars – The Other B-Team

Once a week, I post a video I’ve seen recently that I’m loving. So here’s this week’s Video I Love …

When I was a kid, The A-Team was one of the many shows my dad and I used to watch together (he and I have always had similar tastes in movies and TV shows). But it wasn’t just me and my dad. The A-Team was such a hit with my friends and me, we wrote our own version titled The B-Team, which we videotaped for a class project. Yeah, we were dorks (but it was a classroom-forced dorkness which we used to create a kick-ass rendition of a popular TV show, thus making us look cool). That project was one of my earliest writing credits. Wish I could remember what our episode was about. Something to do with helping the oppressed and huge-ass explosions (which, of course, we couldn’t replicate).

I saw this video and just had to share. It brings together the theme from The A-Team and Star Wars. Just perfect. And something about it definitely screams The B-Team.

Project Update & Scheduled Date for More

Hi all. I hope you are having a wonderful new year, and I hope you and your families are happy and healthy throughout 2010!

Instead of a quote for today, I’m posting an update on my writing. I’m excited to share:

  • I have a tentative release date for More … March 23! That’s subject to change, of course. I’m getting more and more excited and nervous as the weeks go by. And I’m learning a lot about patience in the process. The book is going through final proofing next. I’ll let you know when it’s added to the Loose Id coming soon page.
  • I’ve renamed my current manuscript from The Whiskey Sipper to Breathe. It’s still a tentative title at this stage in the process, but I think it fits the book better.
  • I’m getting ready to do another pass of revisions to Breathe.  So far I’ve gone through the entire manuscript from beginning to end one time through. I have no idea how many passes I’ll make this time, but my guess is that I still have a couple months of work left on it. I’ll let you all know when it’s done and sent off.
  • I have two short stories I’ve written in the last half of 2009. I really like them both, and I’m debating what I want to do with them. I was going to put them on my website as freebies, but I think I’m going to submit them to a couple anthologies for 2011. If they aren’t selected, or if I decide not to submit them, I’ll put them up on the site. I’ll let you know when I’ve made a decision.

2009 has been a wonderful journey to publication, and I want to say thanks for all the support and encouragement I’ve received from the various on-line readers and writers of LGBT fiction! I’ve learned so much in the past 2 years and have enjoyed getting to know everyone.

Thanks for stopping by today,

Video I Love: Gay Sex Scene on US Daytime TV

Once a week, I post a video I’ve seen recently that I’m loving. So here’s this week’s Video I Love …

On Wednesday December 30, the ABC soap One Life to Live became the first US soap to break the same sex barrier for an “on-screen” love scene when Oliver and Kyle spent almost two-and-a-half minutes “getting busy.” I’m not a regular viewer of the show, but I wanted to share. It’s a great scene, reminiscent of traditional, romantic love scenes (even including the traditional “after sex” shot with the blankets covering their nipples. hehehe).

Thank you to One Life to Live, ABC, Scott Evans, and Brett Claywell. Kudos!!

Wasn’t it lovely?

Question for Blog Readers: Issues posting comments?

Hi all. I hope everyone is having a lovely new year.

I’m posting this blog update to ask a favor. A friend of mine is having trouble posting comments on my blog, and I wanted to see if anyone else was having a similar issue. She is using Google Chrome, and I have not been able to replicate the problem. So if you have ever tried to post a comment but couldn’t, could you please send me an email? Or if you have time, please try posting a comment to this entry, and then let me know if you have any issues. Thank so much in advance for any help. I appreciate you sparing the time.

Happy New Year!!

The One Who Made Me Smile

Once a week, I post about something I’m loving (tv, movies, books, art, photos, romances, authors, or anything else) that I’ve seen or read about recently. So here is this week’s For the Love of …

With the close of every year, I try to take a few minutes to remember all the wonderful moments of my life, the friends and family and significant times that have made the year special for me.

As 2009 came to a close, I took a moment to remember one special little guy who brightened many days for me, but unfortunately lost his battle with cancer this past year. Today, I thought I’d share some of my favorite photos of him. He was a big part of what made me smile every day, and I thank my niece for suggesting I take a look at this homeless little guy all those years ago.

Jesse was smart and regal and full of live. And he was a fighter. He was sick from the minute I adopted him. Several times my vet looked at me in that caring way he has and tried to tell me he didn’t think Jesse would have a long life, that this time it might be the end. But Jesse would have none of that. He came back to full force many times over and lived to play another day. He was one of the gentlest, smartest pets I’ve ever known. It was hard sometimes to tell he was blind.

Thanks to these pictures, Jesse still makes me smile.
