For this week’s quote, here’s another one from a gay romance, Bareback by Chris Owen.
Jake didn’t bother stopping the sob that welled up as he moved into Tor’s arms. It was awkward as they tried to arrange themselves without actually giving up any contact.
Jake didn’t care.
He was more or less leaning over Tor, his weight braced on one arm as he tried not to fall off the bed, and it didn’t matter. All that mattered was that Tor had one hand tangled in his hair, and the other was on his hip, pulling him down, drawing him closer. Their first kiss was fierce, possessive.

This one’s for all you cat owners out there. I think it’s exactly what happens to me when I try to sleep in (minus the bat).
Thanks to Rain on the Roof for sharing the link to the original site via Twitter.

Hi all. This week was a productive one. I worked on notes & characters for two new stories, I’m now 16,000 words into Walter’s book (a secondary character from More), and I posted a free short story on my site today. If you want to check it out here’s the link and blurb for the short, A Lesson in Truth.
David’s a graduate student about to finish his thesis. Michael’s his advisor and former instructor. The two shouldn’t have feelings for each other, but after two years of friendship and longing, David can no longer deny what he’s feeling. Is Michael ready to accept being more than a teacher to a man fifteen years younger? And if they give into their desires, is it only a way for them to say goodbye?

For my quote of the week, I thought I’d share an occasional quote from works by other authors of gay romances.
To start us off, here’s a great line from As You Are by Ethan Day. It’s Julian’s reaction when asked to play a little touch football with his roommate (and the man he wants more than friendship with), Danny.
“Images from the two weeks of high school phys ed I’d suffered through flashed before my eyes. Luckily, thanks to Mom and the very cooperative family doctor, the torture of PE hadn’t lasted any longer. It always baffled me that as much as I loved to suck balls, I sure as fuck couldn’t seem to catch one.”
