I’ve officially turned in my latest story, I SWEAR TO YOU, to my publisher. To celebrate I thought I’d share another teaser.

This is an unedited excerpt so please excuse any typos. I also can’t guarantee this will make it in the final version of the story.

The door rattled behind them with their movements. There was nothing slow or easy about the kiss, about the way they rocked against one another.

A primal need had erupted inside Grady, leaving him unable—and unwilling—to stop the desire blazing through him.

“Teo,” he said around a moan as Mateo kissed his way down his neck. “What are we doing?”

“Christ, Grady. I don’t know, but I don’t want it to stop.”

Fucking hell, he didn’t want it to stop either.

He wanted more, everything he had pretended he wasn’t picturing during their last few jerk-off sessions.

Mateo pulled back. He stared at Grady’s lips again, licked his own. “Fuck.” He shook his head as if to clear his thoughts. Or maybe not. He propped a hand against the door beside Grady and leaned in once more.

Their mouths met again, and that was it. Grady gave himself over to the moment—over to Mateo.

No release date yet, but I’ll share more as soon as I have the details.

ETA: Here’s more info on I SWEAR TO YOU and how to get a copy of the book.

Genre: Contemporary M/M

Release Date: tentatively Spring 2014

Summary: I SWEAR TO YOU is a friends-to-lovers story about two “straight” college roommates who spend a weekend away together during their senior year exploring how far beyond friendship their feelings have grown. After that weekend, they go their separate ways, but eventually neither one can let go of the idea that maybe they really are gay and are meant to be together. It just takes one a little longer than the other to figure that out. But is he too late?

Mateo said nothing more for a while, just stared off into the dark, impenetrable water once again. When his second beer was almost gone, he said, “You know that thing we’ve been doing after your history class?”

Shit.

With that one question, he was violating their unspoken agreement not to talk about it—about what they did every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday when Grady got back to their dorm room.

So far those afternoons had been the best sexual experience of Grady’s life, and all he did was spend those few minutes touching only himself.

Mark sat at a table staring at the comic books spread out before him. He still wore the dress shirt and tie he’d had on at the awards ceremony. The library was closed, and he was alone in one of the study rooms. The same room where he’d first had sex with Scott.

After he’d left the competition, he got a message from his boss that the additional shelving display units she’d ordered had come in and that she’d appreciate it if he worked on them this weekend. He’d decided assembling shelves was a much better way to keep busy than staring at his apartment ceiling. The task would give him something to focus on other than how he’d walked out on Scott’s big moment.

And yet, he hadn’t even opened the boxes. He’d gone straight for the comic collection and pulled out binder after binder of superhero comics. He’d taken the stack of binders to the study room and laid them out on the table before him where he scanned through each book, thinking about what made a man a hero, trying to find the answers to questions he thought he’d long ago come to understand about his life and his future.

Thinking about Scott.

And just for fun, here’s a snippet from one of my favorite moments in the book…

Walter sucked in a deep breath, and the embrace turned fierce, like he wasn’t sure he could ever let go. He whispered, “I never thought I’d be here.”

“Where?”

Walter threaded a hand through the wet strands at the back of Kevin’s hair. “More afraid of losing someone than I’ve ever been. Wanting and needing someone more than…anyone.”

Kevin kept his arms wrapped around Walter, sweeping his palms over the damp skin of his back and broad shoulders, desperately needing to comfort and not wanting to face why. Or maybe he did. Maybe he’d been waiting for this moment all his life.

Mark filed the idea away for later. He lay down and pulled a sleepy Scott close. Maybe if the talk with Bruce went well, that’s how they could celebrate.

That’s if he didn’t blow it by freaking when it came time to tie Scott up again. He closed his eyes and tried to convince himself he wouldn’t. He had to trust what Scott said. He didn’t want to ruin the amazing thing they had going when it came to the sex. He wouldn’t do that to Scott.

Scott settled in again with his head on Mark’s chest.

Mark ran a hand down his back. “Are you sure…”

“Absolutely.”

Okay. He could do this. He could trust Scott.

I’ve got a new editor I’m working with going over it now, and then it’ll be up on my website.
