Three-Word Scenario: Everything About You

I shared my latest Three-Word Scenario on my site today. Stop by my website to read my gay m/m romance scenario using the following words. Or check it out below.

Everything About You
by Sloan Parker

I stopped with the jigsaw puzzle piece held in mid-air and stared back at Joe. I couldn’t have heard him correctly.

He was on the couch across the room from me, leaning forward with his elbows propped on those strong, muscular thighs. He had a crooked smirk on his face, that innocent, yet wicked expression usually reserved for the moment right before he was about to attack my dick with his lips. I could almost see a halo over his head and a red pitchfork in his hand. Maybe I had heard him correctly after all.

He added, “I think that piece is part of his beak.”

“What?”

He pointed at the puzzle piece in my hand.

“Oh.” I inserted the three-sided section into the last empty space that made up the red-winged blackbird’s beak.

Now that Joe had asked the question, and the words were hanging there between us, I felt like the biggest dork with the folding table before me covered in puzzle pieces sorted by shape and color. For weeks now I’d been putting together the puzzles my grandma had left behind when she’d passed away. I met his gaze again and studied him.

“What?” he asked.

“Why now?”

“I’ve been watching you put together these bird and rabbit puzzles since the funeral, and I realized something tonight.”

“What?” That I’m the biggest dork on the planet who can’t figure out how to say good-bye to his grandma?

“I love everything about you, and I want to marry you.”

Three-Word Scenario: My first gift for him

I’ve mentioned my these three-word scenarios before. It’s a fun exercise for me, a great way to keep my brain actively coming up with new ideas while I’m revising a novel. I’ve decided to keep all my scenarios under 200 words.

My sweetie picked the three words this time:

The scenario I came up with is more the start of something, or perhaps the ending of an m/m romance between friends, a sweet moment in time that could lead to more.

Christmas Eve. Out first together in a real home.

Outside it was raining, the ground covered in mud—not the snow I’d always imagined—and Tommy was late getting home from work. I shouldn’t have been this happy. I shouldn’t have been sitting on the floor of the living room staring up at the Christmas tree with its blue twinkling lights and candy canes, smiling like peace on earth really was just a wish away.

I carefully secured the end of the wrapping paper around the 1970’s alien action figure set. A garage-sale find that had taken me four Saturdays of walking through one suburban housing development after another, scouring through boxes of old toys in search of the little plastic green aliens. Tommy’d had the same set as a kid. Since we’d both run away from less-than-stellar homes as teens, neither of us had any childhood mementos to remind us of the few good days we had in our youths.

The smile grew as I imagined his face when he opened the box.

My first gift for him. The first time I’d had money to spend on something this frivolous. Only, to Tommy it wouldn’t be that at all.

Word Count: 200 (just made it!)

Dang, now I have a new story I want to write.

Leave a comment if you have an idea for a 3-word scenario I can use in the future. I’d love to hear your ideas.

This scenario was cross-posted at Loose End this week.

Love is Always Write (an M/M Romance series)

What could be better than 150 m/m stories? 150 free m/m stories.

The M/M Goodreads group is posting another round of member stories. The event is called Love is Always Write, and it’s a great way to try out new-to-you authors and read a free story from one of your favorites too. The first story has been posted in celebration of the group’s membership passing the 6,000 members mark!

The rest of the stories will be coming in a week, two per day for the next 2.5 months. If you’re not already a member of the group, you can join here (Due to the adult content in this group, you must be at least 18 to join).

Website updated with new files for my free stories

Uh-oh…It looks like several of the links to my free short stories were not working for the past few weeks. I think some of the ebook files were inadvertently deleted from the web server (the PDFs worked fine but some of the others were gone). Sorry for the inconvenience to anyone who wanted the mobi, epub, or html formats. All of the links are working again.

I also took the time to redo the files. They are the same three stories. I just recreated the various ebook formats to correct a few formatting issues and to include the updated cover for Swept Away.

I also added new web pages to my site with the full story for each, so now you can read the short stories right on the site, instead of downloading one of the ebook formats.

Here are the direct links to read online:

The Break In

You can also check out my serial story “More Than Just a Good Book” here. I’ll be starting on part 5 shortly. Not sure when that’ll be out yet, but I’ll keep you posted.

In the meantime, I’m still plugging away on revising Walter and Kevin’s story.

SWEPT AWAY, a Gay Romance based on this photo:

“Race you,” he said, then jumped off the deck and ran onto the beach stark naked, heading for the water’s edge.

“Asshole,” I called out as I kicked off my shorts and shoes. I chased after him, laughing all the way to the water. He’d already made it in waist-high by the time I got there. He splashed me as I ran in. I lunged at him, and he let out a huge-ass giggle as I wrapped my arms around his chest from behind. A fucking giggle.

Wait. That hadn’t come from him. It was from me. His laugh still sounded like a guy his size normally would. It sounded great. I sounded like a kid running to get to the dodgeball first at recess. Maybe it was the sound of pure joy.

I had every intention of dunking him under the water, but I gave up on that idea. I couldn’t bring myself to end his laughter. Better to cut off my own embarrassing sounds. I let go of him, dove under the surface, and basked in the cool water that surrounded my heated flesh from head to toe. The stickiness of the past twelve hours washed away, and every concern and worry went with it.

Maybe I had been under too long. His large hands grabbed my arms and yanked me up. “Come here.” He brought his lips to mine. The stubble on his face was wet, and the water dripped to my chest as we pressed closer together.

He grabbed the back of my head and parted his lips. So many times we’d done this, a caress of tongues, the intensity building, our cocks growing harder as our bodies surged together, as we shifted our hips and found the rhythm that drove us both to the edge. But we’d never done anything outside. We’d fucked year after year in front of forty guys, but not once had he given me a simple kiss on the lips outside of our place or a gay bar. Never outdoors where someone might see. Never standing naked in the ocean.

He backed up a few steps toward the cottage tugging me along with him, never stopping the touches or the kisses until we reached the water’s edge. He pulled me down to the sand until I was lying on top of him. I braced myself, hands in the wet sand on each side of his head, and lined up our bodies groin to groin. I stared down at him. The wet hair on his chest shone in the dim light of the moon. The muscles of his biceps flexed as he ran his palms down my arms. His eyes crinkled up again at the corners as he gave me a slow smile. God, he’d never looked better. The swell of the surf rolled in around us, the water shallow, barely an inch deep where he had decided to get horizontal. Such a smart man.

We moved together, creating friction that had my cock wet at the tip for reasons that had nothing to do with the ocean. I rocked faster, loving the groan he gave up as my shaft grazed the sensitive skin below the head of his dick. I didn’t want the moment to end. But I also wanted the wave of orgasm to crash into us both, like the surf washing over our tangled limbs. I wanted to watch his face in the moonlight as he came.

He must have had another idea. “Eddie, stop. Up. Inside.” Maybe those were all the words he could form right then.

From Swept Away

The list of participating authors is huge, and the collection is a great way to try out some of the wonderful new and established writers in m/m romance. I’m honored my short story “Swept Away” was included in this collection.

Hopefully I didn’t miss listing any of the authors. Congratulations to all and a huge thanks to those in the M/M Romance Group at Goodreads who did all the formatting and hard work of putting the collection together as ebooks and making them available at Goodreads and All Romance eBooks.

If you pick up your own copy of these free reads, I hope you find some wonderful new authors to read.

This free ebook is a collection of 27 short stories celebrating love, sex and romance between men. It is a product of the Goodreads M/M Romance Group Hot Summer Days event and features authors attending the GayRomLit Retreat 2011 in New Orleans; if you like what you read, come join our group!
