Fear, Pain, Loss… And Still I Rise

Almost 40 years since this poem was first published, and it’s still so relevant today. Maya Angelou’s introduction in this reciting offers me comfort. The nobleness of the human spirit does go on, continues to rise each and every day.

Need a smile? Watch a Fox Cub Growing Up Fast

It’s election day here in the US, and if you’re like me, I’m sure you could use a break from the news. So here, have a smile with this cuteness overload.

This little thing starts off looking like a mole, but by day 28 she’s big enough to chew on her lifelong buddy’s ear. Too cute. After five months she was returned to the wild with a couple of other rescued foxes.

To Love Somebody

Here’s my latest pick for my “video I love” series. A beautiful montage from several movies and TV shows.

Adorable: A man saves the day, or in this case, a cow

My latest video I love: I don’t know what’s more beautiful, the cow’s frolicking with joy or the man’s interactions with him, moments like this one…

According to a facebook post: Bandit, a bull who was chained all his life, is rescued. Watch his delight when he realizes he is no longer chained.

Some Love Stories Can Change the World

“From acclaimed writer/director Jeff Nichols, “Loving” celebrates the real-life courage and commitment of an interracial couple, Richard and Mildred Loving (Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga), who married and then spent the next nine years fighting for the right to live as a family in their hometown. Their civil rights case, Loving v. Virginia, went all the way to the Supreme Court, which in 1967 reaffirmed the very foundation of the right to marry.” – Focus Features

I cannot wait to see this movie. A real-life love story that serves as a reminder that love is an unstoppable force. It’s stronger than hatred and discrimination. It’s stronger than unjust laws and bigotry and intolerance.

Thank you to all the brave people like the Lovings who fought injustice and won.
